DESCRIPTION APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work cross-functionally to improve scalability and usability of color management architecture. Identify new use-cases and expand the scope of color management in Apple’s products. Extend Apple’s Extended Dynamic Range framework and API. Build framework software to enhance Apple’s extended dynamic range technologies. Build prototypes and running demos on displays spanning a breadth of color and brightness capabilities. Work with crossfunctional teams on a cohesive extended dynamic range architecture. Profile and optimize the extended dynamic range framework. Characterize color precision, perceptual accuracy, and performance. Characterize precision of color through the display pipeline. Characterize performance of color management/rendering architecture. Build novel methods and metrics to measure and describe color precision/performance. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer science or related field.
  • Utilizing C++ and Objective-C to develop color management frameworks for displays.
  • Utilizing C++ and Objective-C to develop display hardware programming interfaces.
  • Developing media and graphics compositing software on embedded platforms including macOS, iOS, and tvOS.
  • Utilizing Swift and Swift UI development skills to build test applications for color managing media.
  • Utilizing Xcode for debugging and instrumenting large, embedded software codebases.
  • Developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in the realms of color management and compositing technologies for new and novel software features.
  • Utilizing High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Color technologies to develop accurate and efficient embedded software capable of meeting the needs of advanced video, image, and graphics rendering use-cases.
  • Utilizing version management and bug tracking tools to track progress on software under development.
