Identify and develop core cellular technologies that solve everyday problems for customers using iPhone, iPad, Watch and other wireless product lines across all aspects of Cellular Protocol software - SIM, NAS, AS and iOS interfaces. Provide in-depth analysis and solutions of incoming software issues by investigating problem descriptions, feature requirements, error logs, technical specifications and determining root cause issues. Clarify and optimize potential solutions for cellular software issues. Implement solutions created to address software issues and perform testing via running individual component host tests, component verification tests (CV testing), continuous integration tests (CI testing), and live device testing to verify validity and performance of proposed solutions. Perform in-depth analysis and review of code and provide solutions and comments. Analyze past and currently active tickets and technical specifications in assigned subcomponents/fields to increase knowledge and experience in 3GPP and Cellular Protocol domain-specific knowledge, most efficient ways to analyze tickets, and best practices for creating solutions. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 - $210,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Using C and C++ programming languages for software development of cellular protocol stack of baseband modem.
  • Utilizing Python scripting to write automation scripts used for host-based module or integration testing.
  • Using Embedded System for system design, including knowledge in debugging the system issues of cellular protocol stack.
  • Using Operating system fundamentals, memory management for system design, and implementation of the wireless protocol stack.
  • Using Linux to implement the components of the cellular baseband modem in a Linux environment.
  • Using an interactive debugger, including gdb/xcode/vscode to triage and reproduce issues in stack implementation to debug software.
