About The Position

The Intelligent Decisioning team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build, and support scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality within expected timelines during the development cycle. Our team builds a product that is key in a significant number of SAS deployments around the world as it is used to build automated, data-driven decisions in real time. It combines business rules, analytics, and models to deliver the best action possible for whatever business need our customers have!

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
5+ years of experience developing automated tests using REST, Python, or other modern frameworks
Previous experience supporting a CI/CD pipeline
Exposure to tools such as Github Actions/Workflows, Docker
Exposure to automated testing frameworks like PyTest or Playwright
Experience working in an agile software development environment
Prior experience working with collaboration tools such as Jira
Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts that address specific needs
Design and implement test plans (cases, scenarios, usage); Create test strategies, approaches, test scenarios and test ideas with clear intent
Maintain an awareness of and research new technologies, trends, architectures, and implementation techniques as they relate to the delivery of applications, integrations, and data in CI/CD.
Comprehend complex usage concepts and assess applications’ ability to fulfill them
Design, develop, document, and execute manual tests when automated scripts are not available.
Perform peer code review
Identify risks, issues, potential defects, or defects in any phase of the project life cycle, managing them through closure
Demonstrate aptitude for problem solving and debugging of complex software systems; ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical problems
Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
