About The Position

All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This is a pro-bono volunteer position.
JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.
JerseySTEM is seeking a passionate Software Developer to join our team in a pro-bono volunteer capacity.
The TECH Department is a vital part of our organization, encompassing five key activities/teams: TECH.SFT (Salesforce Administration), TECH.JRA (Jira Administration), TECH.GGL (Google Workplace Administration), TECH.SLK (Slack Administration), and TECH.DEV (Software Development and DevOps).

Requirements

• Knowledge or willingness to learn Google Apps Scripting Language
• Technical background in one of the JerseySTEM Areas
• Strong leadership/team building skills
• Resourceful, can-do attitude
• Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)

Responsibilities

• Ensure TECH.DEV team is making progress on task assigned to them
• With the support of OPEX, ensure adoption of Jira by TECH for transparency and visibility on work that needs to be done
• Participate in the interview of potential Candidates
• Attend virtual team meetings weekly Mondays 8:30pm
• 5-6 hours per week, minimum 6 month commitment
