We are seeking a Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role contributes to the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions that support aviation operations, data analysis, and system modernization across the National Airspace System (NAS). The ideal candidate brings hands-on development experience, a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, and the ability to work collaboratively in a regulated, mission-driven environment. In this position, you will: Design, develop, and maintain software applications and services supporting FAA programs. Translate functional and technical requirements into clean, maintainable, and testable code. Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, and code reviews. Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliability. Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity teams, and program stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs. Support application deployment, integration, and sustainment activities. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and operational incidents. Maintain technical documentation, including design artifacts and user guidance. Adhere to secure coding standards, configuration management, and change control processes. Support continuous improvement through refactoring, automation, and adoption of best practices. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience; or Masters degree and 3 years; or Associate’s degree and 7 years’ experience; or HS diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience.
  • Front-end Angular web development and middle-tier Java Spring Boot API development.
  • Familiarity with Angular, including components, services, pipes, and routing.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript and its benefits for large-scale applications.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) for front-end development.
  • Experience with Spring Boot framework, including RESTful APIs, controllers, services, and repositories.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Mocha, and Jasmine.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience developing and executing development test procedures, executing system test performance and stability test procedures, and Regression/user acceptance test procedures.
  • Experience developing automated tests using Selenium and/or Playwright.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with aviation systems, air traffic management software, or mission-critical operational environments.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
