About The Position

Join a cutting-edge Space Development team delivering advanced technology that ensures our Nation maintains space superiority across multi domain operations. We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support the development of space combat power tools and multi-domain simulation software. Your work will directly impact force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment initiatives, Combatant Command analysis, and Space Force testing and training. In this role, you will contribute both as an engineer and a technical leader—guiding junior developers, collaborating with government stakeholders, and shaping solutions for next-generation space systems. Final interview contingent on a technical coding assessment.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in C++, including compiling, linking, and debugging
  • Ability to successfully complete a C++ technical coding challenge
  • Experience with constructive, agent-based, or event-driven modeling and simulation
  • Basic understanding of space concepts (coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Python, including embedded applications
  • Knowledge of space domain awareness
  • Understanding of space combat power and related mission areas
  • Background in math or physics
  • Experience with parallel software development
  • Prior work within U.S. or Allied space enterprise environments
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug complex space simulation software
  • Lead project efforts and support architectural visioning and technical planning
  • Support modeling and simulation research across multiple disciplines
  • Collaborate using tools such as Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to high engineering standards
  • Partner with government leadership to maintain priorities and direction
  • Meet with customers to gather requirements and incorporate feedback
  • Provide regular progress updates and presentations to customers and leadership
