About The Position
The landscape is evolving rapidly – with new embedding models, hybrid search strategies, and index types spanning in-memory, disk, and object-store tiers – requiring sustained innovation to stay ahead. The Data Technologies and AI Vectors team owns end-to-end development of vector search in Oracle AI Database: researching novel approaches, optimizing indexing and retrieval, improving vector storage and lifecycle, and integrating with Autonomous Database and OCI services. Senior developers and architects are needed to prototype and productize new capabilities, drive performance at scale, and ensure enterprise-grade reliability. Impact includes faster customer time-to-value, differentiated AI functionality within Oracle Database, increased cloud consumption, and stronger competitive positioning across data and AI workloads. Join Oracle’s Data Technologies and AI Vectors team to build next-generation AI Vector Search in Oracle AI Database. This is a strategic, high-impact area powering similarity search, RAG, and intelligent applications for global customers.
Requirements
- Strong experience in systems/software development (C/C++/Java)
- Solid understanding of database internals and distributed systems
- Experience with performance optimization at scale

- Vector search/ANN, ML embeddings, cloud platforms, or information retrieval experience
