About The Position
The Space Development group delivers innovative technology solutions that help ensure our Nation achieves and maintains space superiority in a multi domain environment. We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of space combat power and multi domain simulation software. This role directly contributes to force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment efforts, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and R&D for emerging space systems. Final interview contingent on a technical coding assessment.
Requirements
- 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience.
- Proficiency in C++
- Completion of a technical C++ coding challenge
- Understanding of compiling, linking, and debugging C++ applications
- Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to excel in an agile, fast paced environment
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Nice To Haves
- Python proficiency, including embedded Python applications
- Experience with constructive agent based, event driven modeling and simulation
- Basic space knowledge (e.g., coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation)
- Space domain awareness and/or space combat power knowledge
- Background in math or physics
- Experience in parallel software development
- Experience within the U.S. or Allied space enterprise
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team using Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira
- Perform code reviews and ensure high standards of software quality
- Present status updates and progress to leadership and customers
- Conduct multidisciplinary research in support of modeling and development goals
- Contribute to team vision discussions and simulation software architecture planning
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug space simulation software
