About The Position

Noblis is seeking Software Engineers/Developers to support the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Aeronautics and Exploration Technology directorates at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC). The Advanced Methods project will explore using modern data analytics and machine learning technologies to enable an Info-centric National Airspace System (NAS). This includes research, development, and prototyping on the natural language processing (NLP) capabilities and task fine tuning large language models (LLMs) to extract, store, and interpret structured data to drive post-operational analysis and improve overall NAS efficiency. This also includes digitization and extraction of airspace constraints in standardized Exchange Model (XM) from legacy Standard Operating Procedures/Letter of Agreement (SOP/LOA) documents and automating the conversion of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) into digital format for proactive maintenance/risk reduction, and data driven recommendations.: Benchmark automation for the classification documents and constraints for LOA digitization. Develop natural language understanding models to extract operationally significant information from OIS webinars. Demonstrate utility of large language models fine-tuned on aviation data for natural language understanding tasks using LOA and speech data. Demonstration of state-of-the-art AI/NLU techniques for streamlining digitization of OIS webinar operational information The contractor shall: Draft and comment on final reports for project deliverables to FAA. Present innovations in natural language processing and understanding at peer reviewed conference. Additionally the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure software delivery aligns with project timelines and quality standards. Software development and engineering roles also involve staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement in software development processes. The role may provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members to foster their professional growth and development. You serve as the primary contact for customers on assigned projects, leveraging knowledge of customer operations and business. Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in research, development, and prototyping on the natural language processing (NLP) capabilities
  • Experience with language models (LLMs)
  • Knowledge or experience with JavaScript, Go, and Python programming
  • Experience developing code with Java and Python
  • Experience using Git, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence
  • Proven organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar and its applications
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
