This position is based in Austin or Nashville The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The OCI Dataservices Engineering is responsible for a critical database service used by other public OCI services. We are looking for a Principal software engineer who is ready to tackle new challenges in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable services for managing this key database service. Help us build automation tools for managing our large and fast-growing fleet of database service that underpins other OCI services. Requirements

Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, and lead peers and Jr/Sr Engineers
Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)
Proficient in Java or Python
Proficient in Oracle Database Engineering
You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise
Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations)

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
