About The Position

Amentum is hiring a Software Configuration Management Specialist III to lead configuration auditing, status accounting, and release coordination in support of Navy operations at our Portsmouth, VA location. Tasking will include: - Provide Software Configuration Management support to the Functional Configuration Manager. - Assist lead in implementing a controlled change process that fits within all functional areas of the development group. - Ensure adherence and devotion to augmenting the organization’s development and change management process. - Attend Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Release Readiness Reviews (RRR), and Installation Readiness Reviews (IRRS) and provide CM Lead decisions on approving or disapproving TRR, RRR, and IRRs for test events or release. - Provide configuration status accounting by recording and reporting necessary information on the development process up to and including the Local Configuration Change Board (LCCB) and Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s). - Participate and provide configuration management feedback for LCCB agenda and meetings. - Coordinate the release delivery efforts for all software releases to all sites. - Coordinate with functional leads on configuration auditing to ensure that software configurations are complaint with respect to their requirements, documentation, and software design. - Participate and provide feedback for software reviews, processes, development, and regression test events, Engineering Change proposals, and the Local Configuration Control Board. - Develop process related documents to facilitate team interactions related to the software configuration management process.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for Top Secret and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  • Ten years of experience. Experience must include 5+ years supporting US Navy Communications systems including: Design, Development, Test and Evaluation, Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX and Windows-based operation systems.
  • Must possess one of the following active certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, GLSC, CASP, CCNP, Security+, SSCP, A+, or Network+ to meet DOD 8570 compliance requirements.
  • Ability to obtain one of the following certifications within 18 months of hire date: Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP)), or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)).
  • Excellent communication an analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Software experience that includes: CM Pro, MBPS, or Sailor Active
  • Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a TS or TS/SCI clearance.
