Electric Boat Corporation Department 425 is seeking an individual with Navy ship class, DoD systems, or similar complexity configuration management (CM) experience to serve as a software CM lead. Department 425, Electrical Software and Cybersecurity, specifies, designs, develops, integrates, and tests software for US Navy Nuclear Submarines. The CM engineer uses system engineering principles to establish and maintain consistency of a product’s performance, as well as both its functional and physical attributes. This role will require effective collaboration with systems, software, hardware and test engineers for a variety of submarine platforms and electrical systems for the propulsion and electric plant as well as hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E). Knowledge of the software development lifecycle is required for this position. Specific Responsibilities include supporting project management in all aspects of CM in both team lead and team member roles: Develop and maintain CM plans (supporting overall system development plans) Identify project artifacts that require configuration identification and necessary level of control Configuration control - development and maintenance of configuration status accounting records to provide traceability of project artifacts Change management – prepare and lead change control board meetings and retention of records Support CM physical & process audits and respond to findings Software build management (requires knowledge and experience with software and information technology systems) Provide training to project teams on CM responsibilities and procedures Electric Boat Core Values: Our team members exemplify Electric Boat’s core values: Value each other Behave with integrity and purpose Commit to excellence A cognizant engineer at Electric Boat: Ensures alignment with EB's purpose, vision, and values in all they do.
