MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT We are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale Army software sustainment and modernization program, focused on sustaining a number of key programs and transitioning legacy systems into secure, cloud-based enterprise solutions. The Software Architect shall design and implement secure, scalable, and robust data analytics and application solutions for the ARNG portfolio; develop and maintain business, systems, and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; and develop IT rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures. Software Engineering Leadership Lead full-lifecycle software engineering (requirements through sustainment). Define enterprise engineering standards aligned to Agile/DevSecOps. Develop and maintain SDLC plans ensuring traceability, auditability, and DoD/Army compliance. Agile & DevSecOps Build and mature DevSecOps pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment. Implement CI/CD to accelerate secure delivery. Mentor cross-functional teams in Agile practices. Army Force Management Expertise Apply deep knowledge of the Army Force Management Model (TAA, PPBE, GFM DI, DFS, DFE, D2R). Translate Army/Joint requirements into engineering priorities. Coordinate with HQDA G-3/5/7 GFIM CMO and stakeholders for aligned capabilities. System Sustainment & Modernization Oversee sustainment of legacy systems (DRRS-A, FMS, IMA, ARNG DLP, MUP). Guide modernization, decommissioning, and transition to enterprise solutions. Direct infrastructure consolidation and migration to DoD cloud environments. Data & Compliance Establish data quality and performance measurement processes. Produce required documentation (CSDs, TIPs, Release Plans, FRDs, RTMs) for auditability and certification. Strategic Collaboration & Enterprise Design Define “as-is,” transition, and “to-be” enterprise architecture for all applications. Drive collaboration with government, mission partners, and industry on product end states. Leverage commercial tools and best practices to accelerate capability delivery.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, with a minimum of three or more years in a software or data architect role.
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics technologies, including data warehousing, extract, transform, load (ETL) tools, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Expertise in software development lifecycle management, system architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), and enterprise system integration.
  • Familiarity with modern tools such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub, Docker, and automated test frameworks.
  • Active DoD Top Secret
  • US citizenship required
  • Experience managing service operations as a service manager against SLAs on a DoD TO/contract.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, and experience with command-line tools for automation and data manipulation.
  • Experience with COOP/Continuity of Government (COG) planning.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing solutions using cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Possess the appropriate certifications to achieve DoDM 8140.03 qualification requirements for the DCWF work role 651.
