About The Position

Wellfit is seeking a Portals Architect to lead the architecture and evolution of the internal systems that power our operational backbone. This role sits within the Platform organization and will focus on the design, ownership, and modernization of Wellfit’s internal portals and foundational services used by operations, onboarding, customer support, and internal teams. Unlike a traditional product architect, this role requires a systems-level mindset. The Portals Architect must understand how foundational services impact the entire product ecosystem while also driving improvements within individual services and portals. The role involves modernizing brownfield systems, guiding the transition toward more modular architecture, and helping shape the future of a unified internal portal platform. This position will manage a small team of engineers and work closely with platform leadership to ensure internal systems scale with the business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years in architecture or senior system design roles
  • Experience designing and maintaining internal enterprise systems or operational platforms
  • Proven ability to work across multiple interconnected services or systems
  • Strong experience with C# and .NET ecosystems
  • Experience designing APIs, service architectures, and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with SQL and enterprise data architectures
  • Experience working with hybrid environments containing both legacy and modern systems
  • Ability to operate at both system-wide architectural level and individual service depth
  • Experience modernizing or refactoring existing systems
  • Understanding of platform foundations that support multiple downstream products
  • Ability to lead engineers and guide architectural decisions
  • Strong communication skills with technical and business stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fintech, healthcare technology, or regulated platforms
  • Exposure to Azure cloud environments

  • Identify opportunities to consolidate and unify internal systems under a cohesive portal strategy.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for portal and internal platform development.
  • Establish strong engineering standards for architecture, system reliability, and maintainability.
  • Partner with platform leadership to align engineering initiatives with company priorities.
  • Work directly with internal business stakeholders to understand operational workflows and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Serve as the technical bridge between engineering teams and internal business units.
  • Participate in Wellfit’s BMAD (AI-Augmented Development) environment.
  • Use AI-driven development tools and workflows to accelerate delivery and improve engineering productivity.
