Requirements

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in military aircraft software and hardware test programs.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience planning or conducting military flight test or test and evaluation programs.
  • Experience supporting fighter aircraft weapons systems, avionics integration, and flight test activities.
  • Ability to perform duties independently and oversee the work of junior and journeyman personnel.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience, at least five of which must be in the DoD, OR Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience, at least five of which must be in the DoD, OR A minimum of 15 years of directly related experience with appropriate certifications, at least eight of which must be in the DoD.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level support for planning, directing, and integrating software and hardware test and evaluation activities.
  • Assist in development of test documentation including test releases, airworthiness memorandums, and flight test approvals.
  • Coordinate test resource scheduling for fighter weapons systems integration test infrastructure, DT&E and OT&E activities.
  • Collect, review, and coordinate required documentation from vendors including software releases, Safety of Flight memorandums, operating limitations, and equipment instructions.
  • Assist in creation and interpretation of Air Force Form 1067 and Temporary T-2 modification documentation to support ground and flight testing.
  • Provide technical assistance to coordinate test requirements between prime contractors, program office IPTs, AFTC, and other test agencies.
  • Support development and review of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), master test plans, and DT&E/OT&E test plans and reports.
  • Utilize government deficiency reporting systems such as the Joint Deficiency Reporting System to document hazards, deficiencies, and recommendations.
  • Support aircraft tracking, test configuration management, and coordination with AFMC on maintenance modifications.
  • Provide troubleshooting and resolution support for ground and flight test anomalies involving hardware, subsystems, sensors, and weapons integration.
  • Support fighter weapons system integration including air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, guided and non-guided munitions, and defensive systems.
  • Support flight test programs through technical analysis to ensure test strategies meet mission requirements.
  • Participate in test support working groups, IPTs, and F-16 test teams to ensure continuity of test aircraft fleet support.
  • Coordinate with depot and contractor teams to enable installation of test hardware on required test aircraft.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior test support personnel.
