The School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Science at Madison College is hiring a Limited-Term , full-time Sociology Instructor for fall 2026. Madison College is a comprehensive, open-access institution providing a high-quality education to a diverse population, including first-generation college students. We are seeking motivated and engaged candidates who share a willingness to collaborate with other faculty members, staff, students, and the community at large. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the field and to student learning, and a willingness to grow as an educator while contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking program. This position will start on August 13, 2026, and end on December 31, 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. This position is responsible for teaching Sociology at the college level. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction using established curriculum and course materials, adapting and enhancing instructional strategies to support student learning, utilizing effective teaching technologies and learning environments, assessing student progress, advising students, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of curriculum and instruction. Faculty who are new to teaching are supported through mentoring, established curriculum resources, and professional development opportunities to help them successfully transition into the classroom. This position reports to the Dean of School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Science. A faculty member in this position will teach some combination of Contemporary American Society, Intro to Diversity Studies, and/or Intro to Sociology. Teaching is likely a combination of in-person and online classes. Faculty members may be expected to teach at one of our branch campuses, subject to scheduling and departmental needs
