Responsibilities

• Perform casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social, emotional, maladjustments related to their educational and social progress.
• Perform casework service with parents to increase the parents’ understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child’s problems, and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available.
• Consult and collaborate with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the student’s behavior.
• Works collaborative with agencies to identify, promote, and develop screening, diagnosis and treatment services in the school system.
• Participate in screenings, staff meetings, IEP conferences, and staffing and eligibility meetings as assigned.
• Make home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful information on a student’s background and to share health care information with parents and students.
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Board of Education and superintendent of Schools
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
