About The Position

Overlake Medical Center is seeking a per diem Social Worker for its Emergency Department. This role involves assessing patients for mental health, substance use, domestic violence, abuse and neglect, and other psychosocial needs, providing clinical interventions, and coordinating appropriate dispositions. Overlake Medical Center is a 349-bed, nonprofit regional medical center in the Puget Sound region, employing nearly 3,000 people and known for providing award-winning, compassionate, and patient-centered care. The organization is led by a volunteer board of trustees and is committed to community health, producing a community health needs assessment and implementation strategy.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited university required
  • For Social Worker: Possess one of the following licenses from the state of Washington: Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (SWAIC), Social Work Associate Advanced (SWAA), Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (MFTA), Mental Health Counselor Associate (MHCA), or Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC)
  • For Social Worker II: Possess one of the following licenses from the state of Washington: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • For Social Worker II: Minimum two years of experience required
  • Assessment and care planning skills
  • Broad knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of hospital systems
  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines
  • Knowledge of financial issues
  • Knowledge of risk management issues
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Proof of full COVID-19 immunization as a condition of employment (required after October 18, 2021)

Nice To Haves

  • For Social Worker: Minimum one year of experience preferred
  • An understanding of the issues that are involved in the documentation and continual quality improvement process of patient care in the hospital setting preferred
