The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Southeastern Veterans' Center is seeking a hard working, passionate, and caring Social Worker Supervisor who wants to make a difference in the lives of veterans and their spouses. As a Social Worker Supervisor, you will plan and direct a full range of social services for residents at the facility. You will direct operations by developing departmental policies and procedures, assigning duties and responsibilities, establishing performance standards, and conducting employee performance reviews. You will also oversee social services staff providing essential counseling and case management services to residents, as well as manage administrative functions related to resident admissions, transfers, and discharges. This role requires the ability to form effective working relationships to collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary care plan team, and a genuine desire to deliver effective person-centered care plans. In addition, you will serve as Grievance Coordinator, monitor and manage investigations, and ensure compliance with established policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Social Worker 2 or a Forensic Social Worker 2 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); and a master's degree in social work or social welfare; or
  • Three years of professional social work experience, including one year in a consultative, administrative, advisory, or lead work capacity; and a master's degree in social work or social welfare.
  • You must be in possession of a valid license as a Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
