What you will do: In this role you will be part of an interdisciplinary team and provide advanced clinical skills. The group facilitator is responsible for providing daily group therapy to individuals on the unit. The group facilitator will be expected to document on individuals, work with the staff to advocate for the best course of treatment, facilitate groups using CBT, DBT, and solution-based therapy models. In this role the group facilitator will be responsible for maintaining a positive and productive environment for patients to engage in group. Skills required: strong communication skills, active listening, conflict resolution, good time management, and the ability to think creatively. This position requires someone who is independent, skilled in de-escalation, and able to manage a group of 8-12 individuals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work is required.
  • NYS LMSW or LCSW licensure is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical, Psychiatric, or Health Care setting is required.

Responsibilities

  • Help carry out treatment plans for individuals with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Provide specialized skills and mental health therapy for individuals.
  • Provide a safe space for the expression of emotions and shared experiences.
  • Build rapport, foster trust, and provide trauma informed/empathetic care.
  • Planning and structuring group materials based on group dynamics.
  • Provide psychoeducation as needed and advocate for individuals and their needs.
  • Maintain records by tracking group attendance, progress, and relevant information.
