Job Summary: Provides evidenced-based clinical treatments to patients and their families to ensure patients’ mental health and/or substance use disorders are stabilized. Provides evidenced-based individual, group, and family therapies to adolescent and adult patients with acute and chronic mental health and/or substance use disorders. Participates in the interdisciplinary treatment team; provides ongoing assessments and evaluations, treatment planning, and discharge plans for all patients/clients on inpatient units. Participates in courts services for patients on involuntary Florida Mental Health Act of 1971 (“Baker Act”) proceedings; prepares court summaries and liaises with court personnel on the facility’s behalf. Completes suicide risk assessments (incorporating suicide risk and self-harm treatment planning) and educates patients/clients and families on coping strategies. Serves as the lead clinician for an independent patient case load of patients on the inpatient units; ensures any suspected and/or stated abuse/neglect is reported appropriately and documented in medical records. Works collaboratively with Nursing and other treatment team members to ensure patients’ concerns are being addressed timely. Conducts evidenced-based dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and other treatment services based on individualized treatment plans. Serves as lead clinician on assigned unit; communicates with the Manger/Social Services regarding clinical issues that may arise in treatments or dispositions. Serves as the point of clinical contact when assigned student interns; observes and monitors interns’ work quality. Mentors assigned student interns and communicates with them regarding work quality and progression; identifies scholastic goals with the Manager/Social Services. Accompanies the Manager/Social Services (when needed) to educational and/or community events in which he/she serves as a Behavioral Health Center (BHC) clinical representative. Under the Manager/Social Services’ direction, leads peers (based on clinical experience) on evidenced-based treatments and best-practices implementations.
