About The Position

As a Social Worker at Mayo Clinic, you will provide services and facilitate solutions to the medically related psychosocial/environmental problems of patients and families. Responsibilities include: Ensuring the continuity of patient care by implementing interventions which may include initial assessment, identifying mental health disorders, brief behavioral health interventions, information and referral, during hospitalization. Providing educational support to staff. Building and maintaining positive working relationships with vendors and external agencies to access services for patients. Diagnosing under the direct supervision of a LCSW social worker. This LMSW position will assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work.
  • Active license through Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Service Examiners; Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
  • Valid driver's license required for specific areas.
  • Ability to clinically assess and treat emotional mental health issues is required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a clinic, hospital, medical setting, or healthcare field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of adjustment to medical diagnosis and chronic disease.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, family members/ care givers, providers and allied health staff.
  • Psychosocial diagnostic skills and ability to coordinate transition of care.
