About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide evaluation and social-emotional therapy services to children and families referred to the NC Infant Toddler Program. The LCSW assists in determining eligibility for the NCITP and serves as a member of the IFSP team, contributing to the development of the child and family’s service plan. Additional duties include consultation with staff and the possible provision of treatment services. Services must be provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant Toddler Program.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work.
  • Licensure is required from NC SW Certification and Licensure Board.
  • One must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.

  • Comprehensive understanding of social work principles, methods, and practices, with the ability to apply them effectively to complex casework.
  • Strong knowledge of developmental disabilities and the needs of young children and their families, encompassing a broad range of behavioral and psychosocial challenges.
  • Proficient in building rapport with clients and conducting clinical interviews, as well as administering standardized assessments to evaluate psychosocial, behavioral, and child/family needs.
  • Skilled in collaborating with families to establish clear child and family outcomes and in employing diverse social work intervention strategies to achieve those goals.
