About The Position

DeLaSalle is a public charter high school in the urban core of Kansas City, Missouri that prepares students to
pursue extraordinary opportunities by supporting them with challenging and meaningful real world learning,
social-emotional learning, mentorship and personalized future-ready plans for their lives beyond high
school. We pride ourselves on cultivating a diverse staff and serving a community made up of 97% students
of color, all of whom receive free and reduced lunch. Some of our students come to DeLaSalle not having
found success at their previous high school, but we are determined to provide an environment where they
can thrive. Students and families choose DeLaSalle for our personalized support and the myriad
partnerships and real world learning opportunities we provide, and 95% of our students graduate with at
least one real world learning Market Value Asset. We are the 11th ranked charter school network in the
state of Missouri and outrank Kansas City Public Schools based on DESE’s Annual Performance Report
(APR) for 2025.
DeLaSalle High School is looking for highly effective, highly qualified and highly motivated individuals to join

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• A valid Missouri Teacher's Certificate (applicable level-area endorsements preferred) or ability to earn one
• Ability to pass an extensive background check
• Timely and consistent attendance throughout school hours (8am-4pm) and additional pre-scheduled staff obligations and meetings
• A firm belief that all DeLaSalle students can achieve extraordinary results with the right supports
• Passion for personal growth demonstrated by openness to feedback and coaching
• Takes initiative to address challenges and brings a solutions-oriented approach
• Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS
• Organized, self-starter with the ability to adapt to support the best interest of the student
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Plan & Execute Challenging and Meaningful Instruction:
• Develop and adapt curriculum aligned to state and Common Core standards
• Design and internalize assessments and analyze student learning data to refine planning decisions
• Plan and internalize lessons to facilitate learning in a manner that students own significant cognitive lift of grade level content
• Consistently operate with the belief that with high expectations and high support, all students are capable of mastering rigorous material
• Take personal accountability for student results
• Build & Maintain Strong Classroom & School Culture:
• Establish high expectations through clear directions and routines, intentional relationship building, clarity, and by being a “warm demander”
• Hold students and self accountable through consistent utilization of restorative practices and a trauma-informed approach
• Collaborate with our student support team (Kairos) and families to support students through any personal, academic, and behavioral challenges
