The Social Studies Teacher is responsible for implementing the school's mission, philosophy of education, and instructional standards. This role involves assisting administration with policies, protecting students and facilities, and maintaining accurate records. The teacher is expected to continuously improve professional competence and maintain cooperative relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, communicating academic and behavioral progress. Key instructional duties include meeting and instructing students, planning programs tailored to individual needs using RMA tools, creating a conducive blended classroom environment, preparing for classes, encouraging high standards of behavior and achievement, utilizing positive behavior interventions, and maintaining classroom order. The teacher will guide learning towards curriculum standards, employ diverse instructional techniques, assess student accomplishments, provide progress reports, document learning problems, and address the needs of special programs students. Additionally, the teacher will plan and supervise educational assistants and volunteers, and be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside of instructional hours when required.
