About The Position

Social Studies Teacher Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a full-time dedicated Social Studies Teacher who works under the supervision of the Principal and brings demonstrated expertise in Government, with the ability to teach World History and U.S. History. Major Responsibilities: Instructional Planning & Delivery Teach the curriculum reflecting knowledge of the subject matter (subject matter expert) and of specific learning styles of your students Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions or activities Compile, evaluate and/or grade students' class work reflecting learning styles of students Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of curricula, course materials and methods of instruction. Utilize up-to-date technology in lesson plans and classroom management Classroom & Student Management Manage the classroom to ensure successful learning for every student Maintain contact with students and parents with effective and regular communication Professional Growth & Content Expertise Maintain expertise in field through ongoing professional development demonstrating a commitment to field of study or knowledge of learning styles Faith Formation Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation. Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or post graduate work in a related field
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Understanding technology in curriculum design and classroom presentation
Valid Ohio teaching license
Commitment to Jesuit values and faith-based student formation.
Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life.
