They are committed to doing whatever it takes to enhance the dignity in people's lives. Professional Qualifications: Social Service Coordinators will have completed a 36-hour Social Service Course or two years' related training. Verbal communication skills are important to carry on conversations with residents, co-workers and visitors in an understandable manner. Social Service Coordinators are continually learning and growing by participating in educational sessions, in-service training and demonstrations. Some training may require out-of-town travel. Physical Requirements: Social Service Coordinators understand the physical demands their jobs require and realize they need to: lift, push, pull and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc. lift a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds several times each work day. lift twenty ten (10) pounds consistently. be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist. go up and down stairs. remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time. be able to drive a vehicle.

  • Serve as an advocate for residents, ensuring their physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and restorative needs are met
  • Foster an environment that supports dignity, respect, and adjustment to life changes
  • Build strong, positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident care and services
  • Act as a resource, teacher, and role model for staff
  • Participate in care planning, meetings, and ongoing education
  • Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the resident experience
