About The Position

The Social Services Assistant provides supportive services to social workers, case managers, and clients. This role assists with administrative tasks, outreach efforts, and client referrals to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Maintain accurate records and case documentation. Support community outreach and public education initiatives. Coordinate scheduling and follow-ups for client services. The Social Services Assistant works under general supervision and is responsible for teaching living skills to clients and assisting clients in locating necessary resources. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. The DCFS Program Assistant is responsible for providing support and services to DCFS families as reflected by Arkansas Practice Model. The Social Services Assistant provides supportive services to social workers, case managers, and clients. This role assists with administrative tasks, outreach efforts, and client referrals to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months of work experience in human services programs or public service.
  • Required to have a background check and child/adult maltreatment registry check.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • Current auto insurance
  • May be required to work flex hours.
  • be on a 24-hour on-call rotation
  • Central Registry background checks required.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (i.e., picking up children)
  • Willing to transport children and adult clients in your own personal vehicle.
  • Driving long distances during the day and night hours
  • Special duties as assigned.
