About The Position

We grow the world’s BEST Strawberries & that wouldn’t be possible without our Supporting Teams! As part of our Marketing Team, the Social Media Specialist builds the strategy for our organic social platforms, and will produce some but not all in-house social assets, with the goals of audience engagement and impacting consumer buying decisions. The role also includes active community engagement and consumer care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field. Please provide a digital portfolio of your work within your resume or cover letter
  • 2+ years of Social Media and Content experience required; Current knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in brand marketing, and social media space.
  • Trend and pop culture maven: you have a strong awareness of trends and are “in the know.”
  • Has a good eye and curation ability – can pick out the right photography or content to use at a given time
  • Photography Skills: Must be confident with a camera and have an interest in photography / video content capture.
  • Basic Copy Writing – Able to understand a writing style and use it for social media captions
  • Proficient with social media management platforms (eg Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and our productivity software (eg Asana, Slack and Google Suite)
  • This is in an onsite role in Jersey City, NJ and requires occasional travel to our additional production facilities (currently Philipsburg, NJ), as well as stores where Oishii products are sold to capture content. Also up to 25% overnight travel regularly across the US & Canada for partnership drops, influencer seedings and campaign assistance. Can be up to two weeks a month during peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Build the strategy and asset pipeline for Oishii’s organic social media platforms (Instagram as our core platform, but includes halo platforms such as LinkedIn, X, and working closely with the Sr Marketing Manager to repurpose content for paid TikTok ads) with a focus on on-brand, engaging copy and content that helps drive brand awareness.
  • Work with Oishii PR team and outside partners to seed berries and manage the flow of incoming content that delivers on marketing initiatives and seasonal campaigns.
  • Create & execute PR and influencer mailers (boxes, themed mailers, baskets, merch, gift cards etc).
  • Arrange delivery and at times make deliveries to Oishii VIPs and collab partners to ensure the absolute best experience!
  • Manage relationships with 8-12 external content creators and existing or potential brand partners per quarter, acting as a key contact for the brand and brand visual aesthetic.
  • Manage internal requests from various stakeholders on using our social handle to support retailers and other marketing initiatives, prioritizing the most impactful and strategic needs first
  • Working closely with the Creative Director to ensure all copy and content aligns with brand identity, campaigns, and storytelling goals.
  • Attend Oishii activations and events to capture content, edit video and still images in-app for social posts, and write headlines & body copy for social posts
  • Work closely with the creative team to develop and create content series at least 1-2 times a quarter (Person-on-the-Street interviews, Staff Interviews, Farm Education Videos, etc.)
  • Provide ongoing community engagement across all Oishii social platforms (IG, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest) including: liking, hearting, commenting on owned and earned content, as well as partner and retailer brands. Engagement is a critical metric and this is an imperative for keeping accounts healthy.
  • Social Housekeeping: organizing UGC content, updating analytics tracker, reporting on monthly KPI’s & success metrics.
  • Consumer Experience: Fielding and responding to consumer feedback regarding fresh berries and shelf stable products (eg Jam) via DMs, public messages, or emails and ensuring a positive follow-up experience for the consumer
