POSITION OBJECTIVE : Kaplan Early Learning Company is seeking a Social Media Manager to support the execution and growth of our organic and paid social media presence. This role is ideal for an entry- to mid-level marketer who loves storytelling, short-form video creation, community engagement, and using social media to support broader brand awareness, demand generation, and sales goals. As a key member of the marketing team, the Social Media Manager will plan, create, publish, and analyze social content across multiple platforms while collaborating closely with content, design, product marketing, and demand generation team members. This is growth -minded role. With experience and demonstrated success, the Social Media Manager may advance into opportunities to expand into areas such as influencer and brand partnership programs, broader digital marketing and brand strategy, and increased ownership of paid social media initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand is preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with design, content, and marketing teams.
  • Interest in social media marketing, brand building, and demand generation.
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
  • HubSpot is a plus.
  • Familiarity with paid social campaigns is a plus.
  • Exposure to performance reporting and KPI tracking preferred.
  • Passion for education or experience working with early childhood-focused brands (preferred).
  • Interest in or familiarity with early childhood education is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Social Strategy & Planning Support execution of the social media strategy defined by marketing leadership.
  • Maintain and update the social content calendar to ensure consistent posting aligned with campaigns, product launches, seasonal initiatives, and promotions.
  • Identify content opportunities that align with Kaplan's brand, audience needs, and business goals.
  • Monitor social trends, platform updates, and emerging opportunities that will inform updates to Kaplan social media strategy.
  • Content Creation & Publishing Create engaging, platform-specific content, including: Short-form videos (Reels, Shorts, etc.) Static posts and carousels Product spotlights Customer testimonials and classroom features Polls, Q&As, and community engagement posts
  • Write compelling, optimized captions that drive engagement and discoverability.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop graphics and visual assets.
  • Edit video content using tools such as Frame.io, CapCut, or similar platforms.
  • Schedule and publish content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and additional platforms as needed.
  • Community Engagement Monitors comments, messages, and mentions across platforms.
  • Respond to audience inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Identify and engage with brand advocates, educators, and customers.
  • Curate and amplify user-generated content, including classroom photos, testimonials, and conference experiences.
  • Campaign Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with product merchandising, sales, and demand generation teams to align social messaging with larger campaigns.
  • Support trade shows, promotions, product launches, and seasonal initiatives with coordinated social coverage.
  • Assist with basic paid social support and boosting as directed by Marketing Director.
  • Analytics & Optimization Monitor performance metrics, including engagement, reach, follower growth, and traffic.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance through: A/B testing Caption and hook copy optimization Video performance analysis Platform-specific adjustments
  • Share monthly performance insights and recommendations with marketing leadership.
