About The Position

The Social Media Manager will own and execute the brand’s social presence across major platforms, with a strong focus on video editing, storytelling, and audience engagement. This role manages content distribution across the full editorial lifecycle, from early story sourcing to post-launch amplification. The position requires strong editorial judgment, comfort with iteration and feedback, and the ability to create content that sparks conversation and trust. You will collaborate closely with leadership and the content team to shape how stories are told and experienced.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing and growing social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Strong video editing skills for social platforms, including short-form content that holds attention.
  • Experience working with content calendars, production timelines, and structured workflows.
  • Clear written communication skills with strong caption and storytelling ability.
  • Comfort working in feedback-heavy, collaborative environments with multiple revision cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day social presence across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Publish content tied to our full editorial flow:
  • Calls for sources
  • Coming soon announcements
  • Live story launches
  • Ongoing promotion and re-promotion
  • Manage posting schedules aligned with production timelines
  • Edit short-form and long-form video for social platforms
  • Create platform-specific cuts for Reels, TikTok, Shorts, and YouTube
  • Add clean captions, strong pacing, and visual structure that holds attention
  • Repurpose long-form content into short emotional or educational clips
  • Create and test social imagery including:
  • Text-only reels
  • Static and animated carousels
  • Quote cards
  • Story frames
  • Experiment with hooks, captions, formats, and visuals
  • Iterate based on performance data, not personal preference or guesswork
  • Write captions designed to start conversations, not just announce content
  • Encourage comments, questions, DMs, and discussion
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages where appropriate
  • Identify audience feedback that can inform future stories
  • Adapt video and social content into written posts for blog use
  • Support syndication of stories to podcast platforms
  • Assist with social amplification of press releases and media distribution
