About The Position

Kitty Hawk Kites and Kitty Hawk Surf Co. are dedicated to creating uplifting experiences through adventure, retail, and community engagement. With multiple locations across the Outer Banks and beyond, we offer a wide range of kites, apparel, beach gear, and adventure experiences. Our mission is to share the thrill of flight, the joy of the beach, and the excitement of adventure with our customers. We are seeking a creative and passionate Social Media & Content Manager to drive engagement across multiple social media platforms. This individual will be responsible for capturing, curating, and sharing content that showcases our products, experiences, and community. From filming an epic hang gliding session to showcasing the latest surf gear, this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, visually driven environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
  • Strong photography and videography skills with experience in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools).
  • Knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and experience running paid ad campaigns.
  • Creative thinker with an eye for design and storytelling.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the outdoors, adventure sports, and beach culture is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.
  • Capture and produce high-quality photos and videos featuring products, people, events, and the Outer Banks community.
  • Edit and optimize videos for various social media platforms, ensuring engaging, shareable content.
  • Interact with followers, respond to comments, and build relationships with our online audience.
  • Manage and optimize Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) to drive sales, engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
  • Work closely with the marketing team, retail managers, and adventure staff to align content with company goals.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms to keep our content fresh and relevant.
