About The Position

We are seeking a creative, self-motivated, and highly organized Social Media & Content Marketing Coordinator to join our on-site team in Byron Center. This role goes beyond video — you will own the full content lifecycle across all of our social media platforms and support visual marketing needs across our family of brands. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Film/Media Production, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Strong creative instincts with the ability to generate fresh, original content ideas independently
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
  • Deep familiarity with social media platforms — how they work, what performs, and how algorithms differ
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Must be a self-starter who follows through — someone who takes ownership without waiting to be asked twice
  • Comfortable traveling to auction sites occasionally for on-site content capture
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools for content creation, copywriting, image generation, or marketing automation (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Adobe Firefly, or similar)
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to increase content output, streamline workflows, and stay ahead of rapidly evolving digital marketing trends
  • Previous experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing is a plus but not required

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro)
  • Canva & CapCut proficiency
  • Experience photographing or marketing heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, construction assets, or real estate
  • Knowledge of paid social media advertising (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices
  • Experience with email marketing platforms
  • Drone operation or aerial photography experience
  • Experience supporting multiple departments or brands simultaneously — comfort working across sales, operations, and customer-facing teams is a strong plus
  • Willingness to assist cross-functional teams with marketing collateral, internal communications, event support, or other needs as they arise

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and publish engaging content across all social media platforms on a consistent schedule
  • Develop and execute platform-specific content strategies tailored to each audience (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
  • Design eye-catching graphics, promotional materials, and digital assets using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, or other applicable program(s)
  • Write compelling copy for posts, captions, ads, and campaigns that reflect each brand's voice
  • Build and manage a content calendar to ensure timely, relevant, and strategic posting
  • Brainstorm and pitch creative content ideas that go beyond the obvious — think outside the box
  • Film and edit short-form and long-form video content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other platforms
  • Photograph equipment, auction items, and on-site events for use across all marketing channels
  • Occasionally travel to auction sites across Michigan and surrounding areas to capture live video and photography content
  • Handle full video production pipeline: concept, storyboarding, filming, editing, and post-production
  • Optimize video content for each platform's format, aspect ratio, and algorithm
  • Regularly update and maintain blog content across all Miedema Companies websites to keep information current, credible, and relevant
  • Write and publish original blog posts that support brand authority, SEO, and audience engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to source topics, industry insights, and auction highlights worth featuring
  • Ensure blog content aligns with active campaigns, upcoming auctions, and the overall content calendar
  • Develop and present social media strategies for campaigns, seasonal promotions, and auction events
  • Monitor analytics and performance metrics across all platforms; provide regular reporting and data-driven recommendations
  • Research industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging platforms to identify new opportunities
  • Assist with SEO optimization for video and digital content to increase visibility and reach
  • Work closely with the marketing team, auction coordinators, and internal stakeholders to align content with upcoming auctions and company goals
  • Support equipment listing pages with compelling photos, descriptions, and media
  • Proactively follow up on projects and deliverables without needing to be reminded — a self-starter mindset is essential
  • Coordinate with external vendors, clients, and team members to meet deadlines consistently
