Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary responder to comments, messages, and mentions across social channels.
  • Foster a positive, engaged online community aligned with brand values.
  • Monitor conversations and proactively engage in relevant discussions.
  • Respond to potential public relations issues or customer service concerns with professionalism.
  • Encourage and amplify user-generated content.
  • Maintain a consistent voice and tone in all interactions, adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Exercise sound judgment when representing the brand publicly.
  • Adapt communication style for various platforms and audiences.
  • Participate in brand storytelling by appearing in organic social media content.
  • Identify and escalate emerging concerns or risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement resolution strategies.
  • Track and analyze community engagement, sentiment, and trends.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current with platform updates, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Use social listening tools and community management platforms to support engagement and insights.
  • Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined.
  • Professional experience in social media or community management preferred.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences required.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their unique communities.
  • Proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter) required.
  • Comfortability and willingness to be featured in organic social media content for the brand required.
  • Experience handling sensitive situations and customer concerns with professionalism required.
  • Ability to work in a process driven, and fast-paced environment and respond quickly to emerging trends required.
  • Excellent judgment when representing the brand in public forums required.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with marketing, PR, and customer service teams required.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with multi-unit and service-based consumer brands preferred.
  • Experience with social listening tools and community management platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Sprout Social preferred.
  • Crisis communication experience preferred.
  • Understanding of content moderation best practices preferred.
  • Experience managing communities during product launches or campaigns preferred.
  • Knowledge of social media compliance and regulatory requirements preferred.
