About the position

The Social Media, Communications, & Design Manager at Kindness Farm is a part-time, contracted role focused on managing the farm's social media presence and communications. This position involves creating engaging content, responding to community interactions, and designing promotional materials to support the farm's mission of environmental education and community support. The role emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and the importance of storytelling in promoting the farm's initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Fully manage the farm's social media accounts: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.
  • Create new posts, stories, and reels, including editing photos and videos using VSCO.
  • Respond to comments and messages on social media platforms.
  • Send out newsletters and engage various segments of the email list using Flodesk.
  • Design flyers and other informational materials for events and workshops.
  • Post and advertise events, workshops, and volunteer days on relevant websites.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience with marketing, copywriting, and effective written communication.
  • At least 1 year of experience with effective design and using Canva.
  • At least 1 year of experience with social media marketing and email marketing, including understanding algorithms and analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interest in gardening, food, and environmental justice.
  • Understanding of systems of inequity and oppression, and their impacts on youth and communities.
  • Strong collaboration skills and openness to feedback.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
