About The Position

THIS POSITION IS FOR UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS. Expected hours of work per week : Minimum 15 Work Location & Hours : Chapel 119/ Music Work Study Office/ 9am-4pm, some evenings Work is to be done on campus unless otherwise directed. The office is CL 119, but event support may be throughout the campus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canva or other graphic design software
  • Filmography, video editing, photo and sound editing skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Produce photo/video for press releases and social media promotion
  • Write and distribute PSA's and press releases
  • Create artwork for posters, programs, or other promotional needs in collaboration with the Department of Music staff.
  • Copywriter for social media content
  • Coordinate with the manager to handle the music department's social media accounts and mailing lists
  • Coordinate with the manager to handle the music department's event ticketing
  • Assist with other written materials for the department, such as the website and concert programs
  • Assist with other aspects of concert production if necessary
  • Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development, including identifying areas for continual growth while pursuing and applying feedback.
  • Communication in the form of asking appropriate questions for specific information from supervisors, specialists, and others.
  • Critical Thinking in the form of accurately summarizing and interpreting data with an awareness of personal biases that may impact outcomes.
