About The Position

Do people tell you your content taste is immaculate? Are you the kind of person who can take the 9 hour hobbit trilogy and turn it into a few 30 second videos of pure, scroll-stopping gold and still tell the story? Cool. Because ~Pourri (formerly Poo~Pourri) is looking for an experienced, hilarious (but strategic) Social Content Creator and Video Editor in the Dallas area to help us make the internet a little funnier, our social content a lot more engaging, and life a lot less… stinky. And just to set expectations: this job is mostly about odor confidence, rarely would your job have anything to do with a director’s cut of Lord of the Rings. (Respect, though.) About the role Internally, we started calling this role “The Shreditor” because this role heavily focuses on taking long-form content from brand live streams, podcasts, founder-led content, campaign footage, etc. and shred it into multiple high-performing short-form for organic and paid social. The other part of this role will bring you front and center of the content creation machine as you’ll also help create and capture new content: quick shoots, behind-the-scenes moments, trend-friendly clips, and real-time captures during live shows. This role is for people passionate about social media who have a sense of humor and strategy to quickly find the real gems and moments in longer content, without a brief, and edit them down into multiple bits of content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or similar (nice to have—not a dealbreaker).
  • Fluent in the full workflow: capture → edit → post → monitor.
  • 1+ year professional experience creating social content and/or content marketing & editing social content.
  • Strong understanding of major platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Experience with editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut (or equivalents).
  • Strong writing skills (grammar matters—yes, even in poop jokes).
  • Excellent editorial instincts: you know what to cut, what to keep, and what to punch up.
  • Great judgment + willingness to push the brand further while protecting what makes it great.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment: you can prioritize, move quickly, and stay calm.
  • Energetic, curious, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Available for non-traditional hours during live streams (potentially weekly Thursday nights; some Sunday nights).
  • Available for frequent in-person shoots and events.

Nice To Haves

  • Social listening experience
  • Experience and comfort occasionally being in front of the camera as well to film content

  • Film and edit short-form videos optimized per platform (TikTok, IG Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.).
  • Support both organic and paid editing needs (ad-friendly variations, testing cuts, iterating on winners).
  • Identify top-performing content and create smart variations for testing (new hooks, formats, intros, punchlines).
  • Capture behind-the-scenes moments during weekly shows/events and help organize footage for fast turnaround.
  • Help package and schedule content across multiple accounts and channels.
  • Monitor performance and flag viral velocity (and what’s causing it) so the team can react quickly.
  • Coordinate with creatives, social, and marketing teams on content schedules and sprint needs.
