About The Position

The Social and Recreational Activities Assistant supports the instructor and encourages individuals' participation in social, recreational, and community-based activities. The role focuses on promoting inclusion, independence, social interaction, and accessibility in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for individuals who may be neurodiverse or neurotypical enrolled in Village Memberships.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Compassion, patience, and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and engage individuals with diverse needs
• Ability to encourage and support participants engage in active programming
• Respect, dignity, and inclusion
• Person-centered support
• Safety and professionalism
• Positive engagement and empowerment
• Position may include indoor and outdoor settings, community locations and group outings
• Live Scan (DOJ / FBI) background check required

Nice To Haves

• Certificate or coursework in social services, recreation, education, or a related field (preferred)
• Previous experience working with adults with special needs or developmental disabilities (preferred)
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions (a plus, but not required)
