About The Position

Provide multi-tiered mental health services for students using a trauma-informed approach. Work collaboratively with the building administrator, social emotional learning team, teachers, and other building professionals to proactively address the mental health needs of general education students.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Master's degree in school psychology, school counseling, social work, or similar field
  • One (1) year of related professional work experience
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider (SSP) license
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and engage in active participation with teachers, teaching assistants, mental health professionals, and other educational professionals to provide intervention and consultation regarding the needs of students

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health services and social emotional learning (particularly Tier II and III interventions), including services and supports for students identified as experiencing social/emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate and consult with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student mental health needs.
  • Work closely with families to identify unmet needs that may interfere with a student’s learning, such as basic needs (housing, food, medical care, etc.), mental health needs, and learning needs and support families in connecting with appropriate community resources.
  • Serve as part of the safety response team for student behavior needs and safety assessments (such as suicide risk reviews and threat assessments).
  • Support social emotional learning program development and evaluation process.
  • Partner with teachers to implement Tier I Social-Emotional Learning in classrooms.
  • Coordinate data tracking and progress-monitoring for individual student and program outcomes.
  • Serve on a leadership team for implementation of Trauma-Informed/Equity-Focused Practices.
  • Support implementation and data analysis of district universal social/emotional screening tool to identify students at risk of social/emotional challenges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
