About The Position

SOCCER SHOTS PINE BELT is looking for a passionate part-time soccer coach to serve children ages 2-5 throughout the Hattiesburg area. Looking for a fun and flexible job? Join the Soccer Shots family and be the best part of a child’s week. Soccer Shots is an extra-curricular, youth enrichment program that goes into daycares/preschools and takes kids out of class for 30 minute soccer classes. Classes are held on site, at the schools. The ages we work with are 2-5 years old. What We Offer: Training - We offer a paid comprehensive training program to learn Soccer Shots’ curriculum, developmentally appropriate coaching techniques, and best practices. A few, short online courses are mandatory! Flexibility – The hours of our classes at the moment are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. We also have a class at 1 PM on Wednesdays. As we grow, more classes and days of the week will be added to the schedule. The times of these classes are non-negotiable and any potential coach would need to be able to coach all of these classes during these times. Career Progression - We love to promote from within. The Job: Bring “Soccer Island” alive with your enthusiasm and creativity. Conduct soccer sessions for children 2 to 5 years old, including field set-up and take-down. Encourage character development through positive reinforcement and modeling. Utilize expert-created Soccer Shots’ curriculum and early childhood development teaching techniques in every session. Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Follow all on-site safety and attendance protocols. Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and teachers. Coaches are expected to run fun and efficient classes throughout the week. Each class is 30 minutes long and there will be multiple, back-to-back classes. Pay is not hourly, but based on the number of classes that a coach does. Starting pay for each 30 minute class is $12 and can increase to $15 after training is completed. Potential for increase in pay per class as season goes on (based on time spent coaching and performance)

Requirements

Experience playing and/or coaching the sport of soccer
Genuine passion for children and sports.
Energetic – Coaches need to be able engage the kids for the whole class!
Safety conscious and responsible
Ability to adapt to the needs of kids ages 2-5.
Access to reliable transportation. Coaches will need a car to travel between schools. Locations can be a few miles in between each other.
Ability to stand, jog, and demonstrate children’s soccer skills.
Coaches must have or obtain state-required clearances including an extensive background check.
