About The Position
Piper Companies is currently seeking a SOC Engineer II to join our Security Operations Center team. In this role, the SOC Engineer II will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents using a variety of tools and platforms. The candidate will sit hybrid on-site 2 days a week in the RTP area.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center or similar security role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Cloud Security and Splunk
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and security monitoring tools.
- Analyze security incidents and conduct in-depth investigations.
- Respond to and contain security incidents, ensuring proper escalation when necessary.
- Mentor and assist Tier 1 analysts with complex investigations.
- Assist in compliance efforts (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
