THE ROLE: As a SoC Design Integration Engineer, you should have extensive SoC level design integration/implementation experience from architecture spec definition to product tape out. You will meet regularly with other functional team members such as Architects, IP teams, Verification Engineers, Physical Designers, CAD Engineers, SoC Design Engineers, Product Engineers and Program Management to ensure successful and timely project completion. THE PERSON: As a member of the Strategic Silicon Solutions (S3) Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers Special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from tablets to gaming consoles to servers and more. You will work closely with architecture, IP design, SoC implementation team, Design Verification team and physical design team to achieve first pass silicon success. You should be able to work efficiently within a team environment and drive tasks to completion, all while demonstrating excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills!

Requirements

  • Outstanding foundation in Systems & SoC architecture, with expertise in one or more of the following: CPU or GPU, Memory sub-system, Fabrics, CPU/GPU coherency, Multimedia, I/O subsystems, Clocks, Resets, Virtualization and Security.
  • Experience analyzing CPU, GPU or System-level Micro-Architectural features to identify performance bottlenecks within different workloads.
  • Demonstrated expertise in power management microarchitecture, low power design and power optimization, along with power impact at architecture, logic design, and circuit levels.
  • Experience with scripting in Perl, Python, or TCL.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with architects and design team to understand the product specification, clock structure, power management, interconnect and AMD chiplet based infrastructure.
  • Interface with the architecture, power, IP design, SoC integration, Design Verification and Physical design teams to identify complex technical issues/risks and optimize the implementation efficiency and cost.
  • Support the SoC Design and Integration team on project execution.
  • Build complex SoC Design with multiple IP integration and design quality checks.
  • You should be familiar with SoC level Clock and Reset, low power design, UPF, CDC/RDC/LINT, DFT, repeaters, top level integration of connectivity, system bus, peripherals and ARM.
  • Actively work to improve SOC development process continuously.
