Soc/Clin Research Assistant
About The Position
This Temporary Research Assistant will perform microbiome research in a laboratory setting with the following job duties: Performs cultivation of archaea and bacteria from both human- and rumen-associated samples. Performs routine technical laboratory procedures in molecular biology and microbiology that includes but not limited to PCR , flow cytometry, and extractions of DNA , RNA , and protein. Maintains laboratory notebooks, records, and analyzes experimental data. Assists in the preparation of laboratory reports and manuscripts. Assists in operating and maintaining anaerobic chambers, biosafety cabinets, flow cytometer, plate readers, spectrophotometers, and other laboratory equipment as needed. Assists in training users of shared equipment located in the laboratory. Follows established procedures and properly record results. Helps with laboratory management.
