About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to support the research of Dr. Kelsey Bonfils, Director of the Social Cognition and Recovery in Schizophrenia ( SCORS ) Lab in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at UNC -Chapel Hill. The SCORS Lab conducts research examining social cognition, sleep, and functioning in people with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders and other severe psychopathology, with the goal of promoting recovery. The person in this position will play an integral role in coordinating multiple ongoing and upcoming research studies. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, assisting with research protocol development, participant recruitment and retention, IRB preparation and submission, and data collection and management. The position will help drive participant recruitment strategies and will serve as a liaison with community and clinic partners to support enrollment and engagement. This role involves carrying out human subjects research tasks such as consenting participants, administering assessments and questionnaires, and ensuring standardized procedures and quality control are maintained. Additional responsibilities include data entry, data cleaning, and database maintenance, as well as assisting with preparation of regulatory documents, presentations, and reports. The person in this position will work across multiple studies in the lab and will help train and support undergraduate research assistants as directed. This team member will work closely with participants with severe psychopathology and administer diagnostic, performance-based, self-report, and qualitative research procedures. This is an early-career Social/Clinical Research Specialist position and is well suited for candidates interested in gaining hands-on research experience prior to pursuing graduate training or more advanced research roles.
