Committed to the development of individuals of all backgrounds and experiences to help grow the game of football, the Sports Occupational Advancement Rotation (SOAR) is a program created in order to give those from different backgrounds a chance to see, first-hand, the many careers that exist in sports. The summer rotation program will allow interns the chance to gain experience, skills and knowledge in an inclusive environment in one of the following occupation tracks of their choosing: Stadium Experience, Sales, Media, Communications, Football Video, Business & Strategy Analytics. Five to seven interns will be chosen to be part of the program this year. Timing: The program will begin on July 8th and will run 4-6 weeks during the summer (exact dates depend on the intern’s availability and the department’s needs). During the program, interns will rotate once through 2-4 departments related to their chosen track (see tracks below). Interns would be expected to be at their rotation location between 30-40 hours each week. This is an onsite opportunity in Baltimore/Owings Mills, Maryland. Compensation Details: The SOAR program is an hourly, non-exempt, paid opportunity. TRACKS STADIUM EXPERIENCE: Stadium Ops, Guest Experience, GroundsThe intern will assist with daily activities related to running a sports stadium. This involves creating excitement and happiness for Baltimore Ravens guests and team members. Support special event management/attendance, guest services, quality control for housekeeping, quality control of maintenance and suites, and snow removal crews. Intern will also assist with the preparation of the stadium field for Ravens games and/or non-Ravens events. SALES: Client Services, Corporate Sales, SuitesIntern is responsible for assisting with all day-to-day activities within the sales related departments. The intern must be highly motivated and eager to assist with all duties related to servicing and executing the contractual details for corporate partners, mailing of ticket related materials, order and payment processing, customer service and event assistance and ticket distribution. As well as supporting the execution of all retail related event operations, inventory management and product warehousing, stocking and distribution of products. MEDIA: Digital, Broadcasting, SocialIntern will support the day-to-day operations of the Ravens Media department. The intern will assist in updating and maintaining Ravens owned and operated digital platforms (website and mobile app), broadcast production operations, the editorial process, and learning about our social strategies. The intern will have a passion for digital/social media and/or content creation and/or video production. Additionally, they will possess creativity, drive and a willingness to learn, utilizing their own production skills as well as new skills learned through hands-on experience. COMMUNICATIONS: Public Relations Assists with tasks of communications departments, including; general PR staff support, daily news clips execution, interview facilitation, various research projects, website assistance, transcribe media availabilities, compose press releases and stories related to team, serve as media conduits and provide administrative duties such as answering phones and mail. Community Relations The intern will assist with planning, organizing and execution of training camp, responsible for community group involvement, handle community requests via phone, e-mail, fax and/or mail, compose press releases and feature stories, maintain databases for appearances and donation requests and coordinate player/staff appearances and community events on behalf of the Ravens. ANALYTICS: Business Strategy & Analytics The Analytics Intern will support all members of the Ravens Strategy & Analytics team. Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, assisting with data analysis, data visualization and reporting, data cleaning and input, storytelling and deck building, and supporting research and insights efforts. VIDEO: Football Video The Football Video Intern will assist in all aspects of coaches football video; supporting players, coaches, and scouts with video for analysis and scouting. Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, daily meeting room setup, setting up 8K MastRCams for practice, shooting practices and free agent workouts, importing and creating edits in Catapult Thunder. All interns will also have the opportunity to attend professional development workshops, networking opportunities, panel discussions, etc.
