About the role: This Sr. Manager role will report into the Sr. Director of Global Markets Success Operations & Strategy. This role sits at the center of GMS’s inorganic growth agenda, acting as the connective tissue between Market GMs, Business Units, and Ventures / M&A teams to shape and advance strategic partnership and investment opportunities across eBay. The GMS Business Development Lead will partner with key stakeholders to define and drive a pipeline of partnership, investment, and acquisition opportunities for Global Markets Success — leading the end-to-end development and orchestration of these opportunities from early ideation through alignment, and enabling successful transition to execution and value realization.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, strategy, partnerships, M&A, or consulting, with a track record of owning and driving strategic initiatives end-to-end
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate independently in a complex, global environment

Responsibilities

  • Define and build inorganic growth pipeline
  • Partner with GMS Leadership and Market GMs to define priorities and originate a pipeline of commercial partnerships, investments, and acquisition opportunities
  • Assess, shape, and prioritize opportunities, developing clear strategic rationale and business cases
  • Drive development and alignment of opportunities
  • Enable end-to-end development of inorganic opportunities, aligned to the GMS strategy, and in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Drive cross-functional engagement (Product, Finance, Legal, Ventures, M&A) to structure, refine, and advance opportunities
  • Enable execution and value realization
  • Ensure smooth transition from opportunity development into execution, partnering with BU and PMI teams where relevant
  • Maintain accountability for outcomes by tracking progress against strategic objectives and ensuring follow-through on value realization
