About The Position

Field Service Technician (NETA 2+ or NICET or Equivalent Experience) We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Field Test Technician to join our Electrical Power Services team. The technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical power distribution equipment. This position involves approximately 50% regional travel, working both independently and as part of a crew. The role requires handling routine, moderately complex, and complex projects, managing record -keeping, evaluating test data, and preparing detailed field service reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical testing.
  • Proven experience leading and working within technical teams.
  • Strong background in project -based work and customer -facing environments.
  • Familiarity with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards
  • Knowledge of NFPA70E Electrical Safety Standards
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for electrical performance deficiencies.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally 50%.
  • Strong knowledge of lockout/tag -out and hazardous energy control procedures.
  • Clean driving record and drug -free.

Nice To Haves

  • Current NETA Level 2, 3, or 4 Certification, NICET certification, or equivalent extensive testing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start -up, and collect data on electrical systems.
  • Supervise and mentor trainees, assistants, and technicians in the completion of electrical testing duties.
  • Oversee testing activities to ensure consistency and accuracy across projects.
  • Track project scope completion and maintain clear communication with customers and project management.
  • Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high -voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
  • Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
  • Test and inspect low, medium, and high -voltage cable installations.
  • Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.
  • Test and calibrate solid -state and electromechanical relays.
  • Perform relay calibration and power metering.
  • Conduct testing on low and medium -voltage motor control centers and contractors.
  • Start -up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.
  • Test and commission protection and control systems on high -voltage substations.
  • Sample and interpret insulated fluids.
  • Complete Job Hazard Analyses, including arc -flash and shock analyses.
  • Prepare and submit timecards, expense reports, and project reports.
  • Document test results and complete detailed field reports.
  • Participate in a rotating emergency on -call schedule.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory safety standards.
  • Support the sales process by acting as a technical expert in electrical testing and equipment maintenance.
