About The Position

Thomas Industrial Coatings, a multi-certified industrial coating and painting contractor, is currently seeking a driver to operate a snooper truck (specialized vehicle equipped with articulated arms and platforms) and provide access to work areas on bridges and other elevated structures. When not operating a snooper truck the individual will perform the duties of an industrial painter. These responsibilities include prepping surfaces for painting and applying paint and assisting other skilled workers in performing their assigned duties including the installation and disassembling of access platforms and scaffolding. Requirements

Strong commitment to safety and compliance standards
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
OSHA Construction 30 and/ General Industry Certification
Current or prior snooper truck certification
Proven experience operating complex vehicle machinery, preferably in a construction or infrastructure setting
Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Flexibility to travel to different job sites as required
Must be able to pass requirements of pre-employment testing

Responsibilities

Follow safety instructions, rules, and regulations
Operate a snooper truck efficiently and safely to access work areas on bridges and other structures.
Move snooper truck to and from the project site.
Work closely with the project scope of work to position the truck for optimal access to structures.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its operational readiness.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the safety of the crew and the surrounding environment.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, vehicle logs, and work areas completed.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and daily scope of work.
Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address any mechanical issues or maintenance needs of the vehicle.
Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic regulations and company policies.
Perform Industrial Painter duties and responsibilities
Physically stand or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 50 to 125 pounds
Climb up and down ladders, stair towers, and scaffolds
Have the visual and hearing capacity to perform work without harm to self or others
Able to work productively in heat index exposure at or about 112 ̊ F
Must be able to work productively in cold weather
Attend work regularly to ensure acclimation to temperature extremes
Prompt and on-time attendance
Don and perform work wearing air purifying and supplied air respirators and hoods
Using / wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to full
Adhere to the no smoking policy
Reporting injuries and unsafe conditions or work practices to supervisors immediately
Work well with others
Being familiar with the Code of Safe Work Practices, “Job Safety and You.”
Actively participating in “toolbox” or “tailgate” safety meetings
Must have the mental capacity / skill to attain and retain certifications related to the
Wear all necessary personal protective equipment
Be committed to an alcohol and drug free workplace
Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the supervisor
