About The Position

Grand Canyon National Park Lodges operates 6 hotels, 7 retail shops, and various restaurants and dining facilities in the historic Grand Canyon Village. The Snack Bar Attendant will serve soda fountain items to guests. This is a full-time, year-round position at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The role is part of a welcoming community that works hard, shares a passion for the environment, and aims to craft memorable experiences for guests. As part of the Xanterra Travel Collection®, the company is the primary authorized concessionaire at the Grand Canyon South Rim and proud stewards of the park.

Requirements

  • Previous fast food or food service experience.
  • Good verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey instructions to new employees.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while at work.
  • Ability to courteously interact with a broad cross-section of guests.
  • Must be available to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to operate cash register to company standard.
  • Must be able to pass ServSafe food handler training.
  • Constantly: Stand, walk, handle, reach, lift/carry up to 20lbs.
  • Frequently: Reach, lift/carry up to 50lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs.
  • Occasionally: Climb, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 100lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve guests according to company standards.
  • Assist with inventory and orders for products needed for the Bright Angel Fountain.
  • Complete opening and closing side duties properly and as instructed.
  • Ensure sanitation procedures are being followed and maintained.
  • Stock ice cream, soda and other items as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies.
  • Operate cash register and handle funds according to company policy.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment while performing job.
  • Crosstrain for Attendant/Cashier duties in employee dining room as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
