About The Position

KeenLogic is seeking a SME Engineer (Compliance) to support our team with one of our government clients. This position supports Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) in delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support across Department of Defense (DoD) facilities. The role focuses on providing subject matter expertise in environmental compliance across DoD facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include developing strategies and action plans to maintain compliance, collaborating with regulators, operations staff, and leadership, and supporting programs such as air, wastewater, and stormwater permitting, hazardous waste management, and NEPA implementation. The position also involves serving as a senior reviewer for technical deliverables, including reports, presentations, permit applications, and databases, to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.

Requirements

Active Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 15 years of relevant work experience OR Master’s degree in engineering and 13 years of relevant work experience
Active Professional Engineering (PE) license
Demonstrated experience meeting with regulators, operations staff, and WHS leadership
Demonstrated experience providing strategies and action plans to assist in keeping WHS compliant with all environmental mandates
Demonstrated experience as a senior reviewer for all draft deliverables, including reports, presentations, permit applications, and databases
Experience with Air Permitting and implementation
Experience with Wastewater permitting and implementation
Experience with Stormwater permitting and implementation
Experience with Hazardous waste and chemical inventory compliance
Experience with Storage tank compliance
Experience with Soil and groundwater investigation and compliance
Experience with NEPA program implementation

Responsibilities

Support Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) in delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support.

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Develop strategies and action plans to maintain compliance.
Collaborate with regulators, operations staff, and WHS leadership.
Support programs such as air, wastewater, and stormwater permitting and implementation.
Manage hazardous waste and chemical inventory compliance.
Ensure storage tank compliance.
Conduct soil and groundwater investigation and compliance.
Implement NEPA programs.
Serve as a senior reviewer for technical deliverables, including reports, presentations, permit applications, and databases, to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.
